Join the Race to Beat Heart Disease

HELP THE HEART CAR FUEL RESEARCH THAT SAVES LIVES!

The number 1 killer of men and women in the world is heart and vascular disease.

Competing against the best auto racing teams in the world takes dedication, expertise, cutting-edge technology and the ability to push the envelope of performance.

Competing in the race to beat heart disease, the Texas Heart Institute is showing how much these same skills can accomplish when lives are on the line.

Ally Smith Babineaux with heart car.Ally Smith Babineaux can tell you about both. She's more than a racing fan and team mascot "Ally Cat". She was kept alive for more than 2 years before her heart transplant by a revolutionary heart-assist device developed by dedicated THI doctors and researchers.

Our race to beat heart disease began over 40 years ago, and we've got a track record of helping thousands of people like Ally along the way.

That's why the partnership between the Texas Heart Institute and Godstone Ranch Motorsports, racers of the Heart Car, is a natural. We are not to the finish line yet, but with your support, we are determined to win the race to beat heart disease.

The THI Mobile Imaging Unit uses the most accurate detection methods to screen student athletes for life-threatening cardiac abnormalities.

The Center for Coronary Artery Anomalies (CCAA) at the Texas Heart Institute is conducting a research program that involves voluntary screenings of 10,000 Houston area middle school students for certain difficult-to-detect, congenital heart abnormalities that are thought to predispose young people to Sudden Cardiac Death (SCD). Sitting on the sidelines and doing nothing while tragedy continues to strike is not an option. Learn more about this program.
