The Heart Information Center is located on the first floor of the Texas Heart Institute at St. Luke's Episcopal Hospital—The Denton A. Cooley Building (6770 Bertner, in the Houston Texas Medical Center). Click here for a floor plan (PDF). Learn about the building.
The Heart Information Center is generally open Monday—Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
The Heart Information Center is a place where patients, families, and visitors are welcome to explore information about heart health and the prevention and treatment of heart disease. In addition to educating physicians and researchers, the Texas Heart Institute is committed to educating children and adults about the effects of heart disease and the need for heart disease prevention. The Center has up-to-date reference materials, expanded audiovisual capabilities, and Internet-linked computers for searches.
The staff and trained volunteers can provide personal assistance as well as answer questions through a toll-free phone information service and respond to e-mail inquiries. Community outreach efforts include health fairs, a speaker's bureau, and seminars.
In an effort to provide heart-information resources for the Hispanic population, the Heart Information Center's ongoing goal is to increase the amount of Spanish-language information available in the Center and on the website.
